Preparation Steps
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef or chicken with salt and pepper. Form the mixture into even burger patties, about ½ inch thick. Let rest for 10 minutes as you preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the grill or skillet is hot, place the patties on it. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- While the patties are cooking, grill fresh pineapple rings for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and charred.
- Toast your burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the buns.
- Assemble the burgers starting with the bottom bun, then adding fresh greens, the cooked patty, teriyaki sauce, and caramelized pineapple before placing the top bun.
- Serve immediately while hot, optionally pairing with sweet potato fries or a tropical salad.
