  • Old Fashioned Glass

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, combine 1.5 cups of sliced fresh strawberries, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of water. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir occasionally until the mixture comes to a simmer, around 5 minutes.
  2. Continue to simmer the strawberry mixture for about 10 minutes, allowing the strawberries to break down and meld with the sugar.
  3. After the syrup has cooled for about 10 minutes, strain it through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to remove the solid bits of strawberry.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 1 ounce of rye whiskey, 1 ounce of Amaro Nonino, ½ ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and ½ ounce of the homemade strawberry syrup.
  5. Cap the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  6. Strain the cocktail into an ice-filled glass, such as an Old Fashioned glass.
  7. To elevate your Sun-Kissed Sipper, garnish the cocktail with a sprinkle of crushed pink peppercorn for an aromatic touch.
