  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil canola or sunflower oil is preferable

  • 1/2 cup Sriracha adjust for heat preference
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar can substitute with coconut sugar or honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce use tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 cloves minced garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust according to taste
  • 1/4 cup water omit for thicker sauce
For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons green onion diced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds can skip if unavailable

Method
 

Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, add chicken breasts and sprinkle with cornstarch. Toss until evenly coated and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together brown sugar, Sriracha, soy sauce, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and water until smooth.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Fry chicken pieces for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, tossing in the sauce for 1-2 minutes until fully coated.
  6. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
