- In a large pot, bring 4-6 quarts of well-salted water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- Add your spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package directions until al dente, typically 8-10 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until golden, about 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer drained spaghetti into the skillet, tossing with garlic oil. Add a splash of reserved pasta water to help combine.
- Stir in chopped parsley and grated Parmesan, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and Parmesan, mixing well to combine.
- Slice Italian bread in half horizontally and spread garlic butter mixture generously on both halves.
