Ingredients
  

For the Spaghetti
  • 12 oz Spaghetti Whole wheat or gluten-free can be used.
  • 4-6 quarts Water Well-salted for boiling.
  • 1 tbsp Salt Adjust to your preference.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Can substitute with another oil.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh is preferred.
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional for heat.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Chopped.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Can substitute with Pecorino Romano or nutritional yeast.
  • 1 tbsp Black Pepper Freshly ground to taste.
For the Garlic Bread
  • 1 loaf Italian Bread Sturdy loaf recommended.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Softened.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced for the garlic bread.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, bring 4-6 quarts of well-salted water to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Add your spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package directions until al dente, typically 8-10 minutes.
  3. In a large skillet, heat 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until golden, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Transfer drained spaghetti into the skillet, tossing with garlic oil. Add a splash of reserved pasta water to help combine.
  5. Stir in chopped parsley and grated Parmesan, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and Parmesan, mixing well to combine.
  7. Slice Italian bread in half horizontally and spread garlic butter mixture generously on both halves.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake garlic bread for about 10-12 minutes until golden.
  9. Switch to broil and toast garlic bread for an additional 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.
  10. Plate spaghetti garlic bread with crispy garlic bread, garnishing with extra Parmesan and parsley.
