  • 1/4 cup Rice Vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Water no alternative needed
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger or use ground ginger
  • 3 cloves Garlic or substitute with garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch arrowroot powder is a suitable alternative
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil can substitute with canola or sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds for garnish
  • 2 stalks Green Onions chopped for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, rice vinegar, water, fresh ginger, and minced garlic. Whisk until the honey dissolves and set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over the chicken, lower heat, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and add it to the skillet. Stir and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat, transfer the chicken to a serving platter, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
