- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, sugar, eggs, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Blend until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the pumpkin mixture into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the top of the pumpkin mixture.
- Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the dry cake mix.
- Melt the unsalted butter and drizzle it over the topping.
- Place in the oven and bake for 50 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
