  • 1 cup Whole Milk Warm to activate yeast
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil Can substitute with melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup Sugar Granulated or coconut sugar
  • 2.5 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast Can substitute with instant yeast
  • 1 cup Pumpkin Puree Fresh or canned
  • 4 cups All-purpose Flour Can switch to whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Can substitute with pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg Omit if not available
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger Fresh ginger can also be used
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Balances flavors
  • 1/2 cup Salted Butter Melted, unsalted can be used with added salt
For the Filling
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar Can also use brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Deepens flavor
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans Can swap with walnuts or omit
For the Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter Softened
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar Adjust for sweetness
  • 1/4 cup Whole Milk Add for desired consistency
  • 1 teaspoon Maple Extract Optional for flavor

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Warm the milk, add oil and sugar, sprinkle yeast, and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger in a bowl.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stir until sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes; let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle filling ingredients.
  6. Roll dough tightly into a log and slice into 12-15 pieces.
  7. Let rolls rise again for 30-45 minutes, preheat oven to 350°F.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix frosting ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  10. Frost warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
