For Optional Add-Ins
  • 2 large Beaten Eggs optional
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional

Equipment

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Brown the Pork: In a large pot set over medium-high heat, add the ground pork. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and fully cooked. Use a slotted spoon to drain excess fat.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Add the diced yellow onion, minced garlic, and freshly grated ginger to the pot. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until the onions are translucent.
  3. Build Soup Base: Pour in the low-sodium chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  4. Add Vegetables: Stir in shredded carrots and chopped green cabbage. Lower heat and let simmer for about 15 minutes until cabbage is tender.
  5. Optional Egg Swirl: For a creamy texture, slowly drizzle in beaten eggs while stirring. Allow the eggs to cook for about 1 minute.
  6. Final Seasoning: Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Stir in reserved chopped green onions and serve hot.
