- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- Rinse and dry the mushrooms, slicing them into even pieces.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chili flakes, and cook for about 1 minute.
- Add mushrooms to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for about 7 minutes.
- Transfer drained spaghetti to the skillet, adding the reserved pasta water and fresh parsley; toss to combine.
- Serve immediately, garnishing with additional parsley and Parmesan if desired.
