Cooking Steps
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions for 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces, season with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add chicken, cooking until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
- In the same skillet, melt butter, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Stir in sun-dried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Simmer on low for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Return chicken and add drained pasta. Toss for 2-3 minutes to coat in sauce.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Toss in torn basil before serving.
