- Generously season the beef chuck roast with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Allow it to sit for about 10 minutes.
- Place the sliced onion at the bottom of the slow cooker. Position the seasoned beef roast on top of the onions.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the beef broth, brown gravy mix, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Pour over the beef.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 8 hours.
- Once cooked, remove the beef. If desired, whisk cornstarch slurry into the juices to thicken, then return the beef.
- Serve on a bed of fluffy mashed potatoes topped with shredded beef and gravy.
