Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped Vidalia onion for about 5 minutes until translucent.
  2. Add the whole cut-up chicken pieces and brown on all sides for approximately 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in sweet paprika and chicken bouillon cubes. Gradually pour in water and bring to a gentle simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Cover and let the chicken simmer over low heat for approximately 30 minutes.
  5. Combine all-purpose flour, eggs, and a splash of water in a mixing bowl to make the dumpling dough.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling batter into the simmering chicken sauce. Cook gently for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Stir in sour cream and adjust the seasoning with salt or Lawry's seasoning salt as desired.
  8. Serve warm, ideal with crusty bread or over egg noodles.
