Step-by-Step Instructions for Garlic Parmesan Herb Bread
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water with sugar and sprinkle the active dry yeast on top. Allow the mixture to sit for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
- In a separate bowl, mix the minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll out into a rectangle. Sprinkle the garlic-herb mixture over the dough and roll tightly into a loaf.
- Place the rolled dough in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F during the last 15 minutes of rising. Brush the top with melted butter and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and optionally sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs while warm.
