Step-by-Step Instructions for Garlic Parmesan Herb Bread
  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water with sugar and sprinkle the active dry yeast on top. Allow the mixture to sit for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll out into a rectangle. Sprinkle the garlic-herb mixture over the dough and roll tightly into a loaf.
  7. Place the rolled dough in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F during the last 15 minutes of rising. Brush the top with melted butter and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and optionally sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs while warm.
