Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 bag 9.75 ounces of Nacho Cheese Doritos
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups of breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Mix until well blended and smooth.
  2. Take a Dorito and use a small spoon to scoop out a little bit of the center, creating space for the cheese mixture.
  3. Fill each Dorito with about a teaspoon of the cheese mixture. Be careful not to overfill, as it may ooze out during frying.
  4. Set up a breading station: Place the flour in one shallow dish, beat the eggs in another dish, and place the breadcrumbs in a third dish.
  5. Dip each stuffed Dorito first in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. Make sure each piece is well coated.
  6. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
  7. Carefully add a few stuffed Doritos to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  8. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried Doritos and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as salsa or ranch dressing.
