Beef Filling
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or grilled/shredded chicken for lighter option.
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped.
Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt non-dairy yogurt for vegan.
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced.
Assembly
  • 4 pieces Pita Bread fresh for best taste.
  • 2 cups Fresh Vegetables such as lettuce, cucumbers, or tomatoes.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil and wait for it to shimmer. Toss in the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they turn translucent and soft.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet with the cooked onions, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 6-8 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and minced garlic, stirring until smooth. Add lemon juice and season with salt.
  4. Slice the pita bread open to create a pocket. Fill with the cooked beef mixture and fresh vegetables.
  5. Drizzle the lemon garlic yogurt sauce inside the pita over the filling and serve immediately.
