Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Filling
  • 2 cups Chicken Breasts, finely diced consider pre-cooked chicken for convenience
  • 3 tbsp Hoisin Sauce swap for soy sauce for lower-sugar option
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil olive oil works as a substitute
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce use gluten-free soy sauce if needed
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced fresh is best, garlic powder is an alternative
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger, minced ginger paste is also an option
For the Slaw
  • 4 cups Coleslaw Mix pre-packaged is convenient
  • 3 pcs Green Onions, chopped chives can be used instead
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar lemon juice can be a substitute
  • 1 tbsp Honey agave syrup works for a vegan option
For the Tacos
  • 12 pcs Wonton Wrappers try lettuce wraps for a low-carb option
  • 1 tbsp Sweet Chili Sauce optional for sweetness and heat
  • to taste Cilantro optional garnish
  • to taste Sesame Seeds optional garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking oil.
  2. Spray or brush wonton wrappers with oil and drape them over the edge of the greased baking dish.
  3. Bake wonton shells for 7-8 minutes until golden.
  4. Carefully pull apart the wonton shells and bake for another 7-8 minutes until crispy.
  5. In a bowl, mix diced chicken with hoisin sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, sauté chicken filling for about 7-8 minutes, until cooked through.
  7. In a bowl, combine coleslaw mix, green onions, rice vinegar, and honey to create slaw.
  8. Assemble tacos by filling crispy wonton shells with chicken mixture and topping with slaw.
  9. Drizzle with sweet chili sauce and garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Assemble tacos just before serving to keep them crispy. Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
