Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by carefully removing the bones from the sardines using your hands or a fork. Place the fillets into a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Use a fork to mash the sardines in the bowl into a paste-like consistency.
  3. Incorporate the lemon zest, lemon juice, Greek yogurt, softened unsalted butter, chopped capers, chives, dill, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper into the bowl with the mashed sardines.
  4. Once combined, cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator. Allow the mixture to chill for at least one hour.
  5. When ready to serve, take the Sardine Rillettes out of the fridge and allow it to come to room temperature for about 10 to 15 minutes.
