  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed about 2-4 tablespoons
  • Paprika for garnish optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Blend the mixture until smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt or lemon juice if needed.
  4. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with a little olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika and fresh parsley if desired.
  5. Serve with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or crackers.
