Equipment

  • large mixing bowl

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cooked crab meat, chopped shrimp, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced green onions, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well integrated.
  2. Lay a flour tortilla flat. Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the crab and shrimp mixture into the center. Fold the sides over and roll it up tightly to enclose the filling completely. Seal well.
  3. In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Test the oil by dropping a small piece of tortilla; it should sizzle.
  4. Carefully place a few tortilla bombs into the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then turn them over and fry for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Remove the tortilla bombs from the oil using a slotted spoon or tongs and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with dips.
