  • 2 cups French Onion Soup consider using homemade for freshness
  • 1 cup Sour Cream or Cream of Chicken Soup light sour cream is a healthier option
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese (Swiss, Gruyère, or Mozzarella) cheddar can also be used
  • 1 cup Crispy Fried Onions seasoned breadcrumbs or crushed Ritz crackers can substitute
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or Olive Oil for sautéing and greasing the dish

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil or butter. Sauté diced chicken until lightly browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cooked rice with French onion soup and sour cream. Stir in half of the shredded cheese.
  4. Gently fold the pre-cooked chicken into the rice mixture.
  5. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  6. Spread the rice and chicken mixture evenly in the dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese and crispy fried onions on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
