  • 1/2 tsp Fine Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
For Coloring and Decoration
  • Yellow and Orange Gel Food Coloring adds vibrant color
  • Round Black Sprinkles used for decoration as the chick's eyes

Step-by-Step Instructions for Chick Cookies
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  2. Combine granulated sugar with lemon zest in a bowl and massage to release oils.
  3. Gradually add the lemon sugar to the butter mixture, then add egg yolk and vanilla extract.
  4. Fold in the flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
  5. Scoop out a small portion and mix in orange gel food coloring for beaks and feet.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Scoop the yellow dough into balls and shape them into chicks; decorate with orange dough and sprinkles.
  8. Chill the shaped cookies in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
  9. Bake for 15-17 minutes until lightly golden around the edges.
  10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
