Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for 3–5 minutes until fluffy.
  3. Add a large egg and vanilla extract, beating until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients.
  5. Divide cookie dough into two portions, mix in peanut butter in one portion and chocolate chips in the other.
  6. Scoop alternating spoonfuls of both doughs on the baking sheet and swirl them gently.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
