Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 package 10 oz mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries drained and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips optional

Method
 

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  3. Gradually add the Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture, stirring until well coated.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and white chocolate chips, if using.
  5. Press the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, using a spatula or your hands (lightly greased) to flatten it evenly.
  6. Allow the treats to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
