Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Place the bacon slices on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy.
- While the bacon is baking, heat a skillet over medium heat and season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Cook for 6-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Transfer the crispy bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
- Slice the chicken into thin strips against the grain.
- On a clean baking sheet, lay out 4 slices of bread and layer with chicken strips, crispy bacon, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Drizzle ranch dressing over the cheese and add any optional ingredients.
- Top with remaining slices of bread and bake again for 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melty and bubbly.
- Remove the sandwiches from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
