Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish lightly.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add your ground beef and diced yellow onion. Cook for 6-8 minutes until browned.
  3. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and freshly ground black pepper to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in your marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes over low heat.
  5. In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the refrigerated cheese tortellini for 2-3 minutes. Drain thoroughly.
  6. Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet with the meat sauce and stir gently.
  7. Carefully pour the tortellini and meat sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Let the dish cool for 5 minutes before serving and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
