Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces of pasta (your choice, such as penne or fusilli)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Add the ground beef or turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine the spices with the meat.
Pour in the diced tomatoes (with their juices) and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 5 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, mixing until well combined. Allow the sauce to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Cover the skillet and let it cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground meat with lentils or mushrooms.
Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition and flavor.
