A creamy and flavorful Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet recipe that is easy to make and perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced green onions
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken and cover the skillet with a lid. Allow the cheese to melt for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Once the cheese is melted, remove the skillet from heat and garnish with diced green onions and chopped parsley.
  6. Serve immediately with crusty bread or over rice for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes when seasoning the chicken.
  • You can also substitute the chicken with shrimp or tofu for a different protein option.
  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and reduce the cheese quantity.
