Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground breakfast sausage
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes and green chilies (Rotel), drained
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage and softened cream cheese. Mix until well blended.
Add the drained Rotel, shredded cheddar cheese, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and baking powder to the bowl. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Using your hands, form the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a teaspoon of your favorite hot sauce to the mixture.
You can also substitute the breakfast sausage with spicy sausage for a kick.
For a lower-carb option, replace the all-purpose flour with almond flour.
