A deliciously rich and indulgent cake combining chocolate and peanut butter flavors, topped with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

  • 2 cups chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together the powdered sugar, peanut butter, and softened butter until creamy and fluffy.
  4. Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the chocolate batter, then pour the remaining chocolate batter on top.
  6. Use a knife to swirl the peanut butter mixture into the chocolate batter gently.
  7. Sprinkle the chocolate chips, chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and pecans (if using) evenly over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 15 minutes. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a layer of cream cheese frosting on top after the cake has cooled.
  • You can also substitute the chocolate cake mix with a devil’s food cake mix for an even more decadent treat.
