Red, White and Blue Oreo Truffles are a festive and delicious treat perfect for celebrations, featuring a creamy Oreo filling coated in white chocolate and decorated with vibrant red and blue candy melts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (15.25 oz) Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup red candy melts
  • 1 cup blue candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for thinning candy melts)
  • 1/4 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos and softened cream cheese. Mix until fully combined and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. While the truffles are chilling, melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  5. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Return to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Melt the red and blue candy melts in separate bowls, adding a teaspoon of vegetable oil to each to help thin them out.
  7. Drizzle the red and blue candy melts over the white chocolate-covered truffles. You can use a fork or a piping bag for more control.
  8. Immediately sprinkle the truffles with red, white, and blue sprinkles before the candy melts set.
  9. Refrigerate the truffles for an additional 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try using dark chocolate instead of white chocolate for coating.
  • You can substitute the Oreo cookies with any flavored sandwich cookies for a different taste experience.
