Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 tablespoons olive oil
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Cooked white rice or quinoa, for serving
Lemon wedges, for garnish
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat until melted and hot.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
Squeeze the lemon juice over the shrimp and toss to combine. Remove from heat.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately over cooked white rice or quinoa. Garnish with lemon wedges.
Notes
For a touch of sweetness, add a tablespoon of honey or brown sugar to the garlic mixture.
Substitute the shrimp with scallops or chicken for a different protein option. Adjust cooking times as needed.
