  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 8 tostada shells
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup salsa
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Place the tostada shells on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven for about 5 minutes until crispy.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated with the spices.
  3. Spread a layer of refried beans on each tostada shell.
  4. Top the beans with the seasoned chicken mixture.
  5. Add a generous amount of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes on top of the chicken.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the toppings.
  7. Return the tostadas to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and drizzle with sour cream and salsa. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
